Our mission trip to Uganda was truly unforgettable. I met wonderful people from different states who joined our team. We began our journey in Kampala, where I had the joy of reconnecting with many of our AIDS orphans--now grown and stepping into leadership and ministry roles.
A new part of my ministry during this trip was distributing reading glasses, which brought many smiles and grateful hearts. We reached out to 8 villages, started by handing out goodie baggies filled with candies, toys, toiletries, school supplies and other necessities. Then we took temperatures, provided medical assistance and medicines, and even captured family photos for them to keep and treasure.
We laugned, sang and danced with the people in our support groups--sharing moments of celebration and love. Most importantly, we shared our testimonies, offered words of encouragement and reminded them that God has a purpose for each of their lives.
